Congratulations to Frank Lofton for being named the
Canyon Academic Male Athlete of the Year!
Every year the track and cross country team has been proud to hand out several scholarships to deserving seniors.
We have three $500 scholarships (named the Richardson/DeLong/Enge memorial scholarships) to seniors who have a 3.0 or higher GPA and have been on the team for at least three years. This year we had a special new donation from a parent of an alumnus for some $250 scholarships for community college, and had been on the team (xc/track) for at least two years. Paul Coleman, Frank Lofton,
and Justin Willingham will each get a $500 scholarship to go to a four-year college. Alejandra Garrido-Soto
and Bryanna Jackson will each get a $250 scholarship to community college!

Trevor Habberstad - Iron Man Award for the 2020 season.
Tyler Cash - High Jumper, Hurdler, Vaulter, Decathlete! He reminds me of Trevor.
He placed second at the State Meet last year, clearing a school record 6-10 in the
high jump. He almost set the school record in the decathlon in our pre-season meet.
I truly believe, had he had an entire season, he would have cleared 7-0+ in the HJ,
and set the school decathlon record. He will be attending San Jose State next
season on a full athletic scholarship. He will be joining fellow Iron Man award
recipient, Jacob Lopez, at San Jose St.

Angelee Berganio - Middle Distance runner. Angelee is on our top ten list
in the 400 (10th at 60.34) and the 800 (3rd 2:16.14). She set both of these
marks last season. Had she been able to compete for a full season this year
I’m confident she would have run in the mid 55s in the quarter, and sub 2:10
in the half. She will be attending CSU Monterey Bay on a Track/Cross Country
Scholarship.

Here's a workout you can all do at home with our own Alysia Montano!
We hope all of you are safe and healthy and staying in shape on your own.
Every year, we select our top athletes and add them to our Honor Role.
We include each years list of Honorees BELOW and on our History Page.
