CIF Finals!!
Great Day to be a Cowboy at CIF Finals!! Congratulations to Caitlin Leao as she placed 9th in the 300 meter hurdles and George Stansell placed 7th in the Discus with a lifetime PR of 147’01”. Our ALL CIF teams are the girls 4x100 meter relay and the boys 4x400 meter relay team. Our girls team placed 4th and they improved on their school record time of 48.17. The team consisted of Caitlin Leao, Mikaela Warr, Brianna Bartone and Madison Desvarieux!! Our boys 4x400 meter relay team placed 6th place and ran a season PR of 3:22.42!! The team consisted of Jordehn Gammage, Cameron Hernandez, Emerys Coleman and Jeremiah Taylor!!

CIF Prelims!!
The further we get into the season, the more difficult it is to advance!! Congratulations to our girls 4x100 meter relay team in advancing but also setting a New school record time of 48.64!! Our boys 4x400 meter relay team also advanced and ran a season best time of 3:24.76. Our individual athletes that advanced were Caitlin Leao in the girls 300 hurdles with a lifetime PR of 47.27 and George Stansell in the discus with a throw of 140-06!! On to CIF Finals to continue our journey. The coaching staff and I are very proud of our athletes!!

Yesterday was our Senior Recognition Ceremony!! On behalf of the coaching staff and I, Thank You Parents and Seniors for your Loyalty, Dedication and great Memories that you have given us in representing Canyon Track and Field!! Great Day to be a Senior!!
At the prestigious Arcadia Invitational, our boys 4x400 relay team had a season best time of 3:26!! In the night meet on Friday night, Jacob Brown ran a Lifetime Best time in the 3200 of 9:24!! Congratulations to our Cowboys!!
At the Trabuco Hills Invitational, our Girls 4x100 relay team ran 48.82 setting a NEW SCHOOL RECORD. Caitlyn Leao placed 3rd overall in the 300mid hurdles. Mikaela Warr ran 25.21 in the 200 meters placing 3rd place and reaching 3rd on the all time Canyon list. The Girls 4x4 finished 3rd for a spot on the podium. On the boys side Jordehn Gammage placed 4th overall in the 400meters with a time of 50.88 and George Stansell placed 2nd in the Discus with a throw of 141’5”. The boys 4x4 won the Invitational heat with a season best time of 3:27.25. Great performances by our athletes!!

PR’s,PR’s and more PR’s!! At the Arcadia Distance Challenge yesterday and the distance runners did not disappoint!! We had 16 of 17 runners have season or lifetime PR’s!! Sam Regez set the tone for the day as he Won the 800 meter race with a season PR of 2:01!! Very happy to see their smiles and for them to be rewarded for their training!! Great Day to be a Cowboy 🤠!!
This past weekend was 2 days of PR's at the Redondo Invitational!! On Friday, we had the pole vaulters and distance runners competing. On Saturday, we had our sprint team, relay runners and hurdle athletes race!! Congratulations to Alex Dumenigo, Carlos Villa, Adrian Rodriguez, Caitlin Leao, Brie Bartone, Jeremiah Taylor and Navin Srinivasan on their PR's!! As our young talented athletes are learning, PR's are not given, they are Earned!! The coaching staff and I see a focused commitment from the team in wanting to Improve!! Looking forward to the 2nd half of the season!! Great Day to be a Cowboy!!
Another great week of competition that our athletes did last week. Winning against West Ranch and Hart!! We did have a few athletes compete at the Don Green Invitational over the weekend and they had solid performances. The coaching staff and I are extremely proud of how our young team was focused at the Tri-Meet vs West Ranch and Hart!!
The 2 day Trevor Habberstad Invitational was a huge success!! Over 16 teams competed!! We had 6 Elite Marks from our meet. Canyon Highlights included our Relay teams making the Elite marks, Mikaela Warr winning the girls 100 meter and Jacob Brown winning the boys 1 mile Invitational!!

Great way to start the season!! We beat Castaic and Valencia today!! Still have lot of work to do but I will take the “W” and the great performances by our athletes!! Our sophomore sensation in Mikaela Warr sprinted to a 12.12 in the 100 meters to be our New School Record Holder!! Congratulations Mikaela!! Great Day to be a Cowboy 🤠!!
What a night at APU to start the Track season!! 4 of my distance runners made their debut and they did not disappoint! Adrian ran 4:49, Jacob ran 4:32, Cynthia ran 5:33 and Briana ran 5:35!! All these times was for the full mile!! Great times to start the season!! Great Day to be a Cowboy 🤠!!

Friday: Austin qualified for the finals in the HH but only jumped 21-3.5 in the and did not qualify for finals
Saturday: He took 7th in the HJ at 6-2, close at 6-4. 6-7 won.

CIF Finals! RESULTS Austin Hernandez is the CIF Champion in the High Hurdles
